It's almost that time of year again! On Saturday, February 11 I'll be attending my 3rd Houston Authors Bash! I'm so excited!!! It's sooo much fun to meet new people and new authors and make new friends. I wish I could do this full-time, but alas, my bank account says "no". LOL! Oh well, one step at a time.
Here is my flyer for the event. My son had to help me, but hey it's done. :) I can't wait to see what's in store for this event as it kicks off my season for book events for the year. Here's to a GREAT 2017 for everyone!

Yesterday was the Houston Authors Bash-Reloaded event in Houston. Let's just say...I had a BLAST at the BASH! It was a lot of fun! It was great seeing authors I met last year and meeting new ones. One way to get me to talking is to ask me about my books! Once you ask, you're mine till you either walk away, or I'm finally done telling you about my books. Then, however, I'll start telling you about my ideas for new books. LOL! I think in addition to some pretty good sales, I made some awesome contacts and met some new fans of Nana's Banana and The Kitty with the Itty-Bitty Tail. Everyone that stops by seems to think the books are cute and sweet even if they don't buy them. You never know...they might think about it and buy it later on Amazon or some other online distributor.
I enjoyed getting to play games with one of the organizer's youngest daughters. She is an adorable doll and so sweet! We played games like "Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum", "Pick A Card, Any Card", and she showed me her awesome counting skills while she counted from 1 ALL the way to 100 without missing a beat! By the way, she won every game we played. She's kinda sneaky, though, so you have to watch her. ;)
I was excited to see my brother as well. He stopped by for a few minutes with his grandchildren, my great niece Elle, age 12, and great nephew Logan, age 6. I think Elle likes books. I think Logan found a friend and wanted to play with him a lot and run around. It just wasn't a kind of venue where he could do that, though, so they left after a little while to go play Laser Tag and let the kids get some energy out.
All of the authors are amazing and creative in their craft. A few sparked my interest, however, so I would like to share them with you. My table mate, Hayley Gompertz, was really cool. This young lady is only 19 and has a book out! AND...she wrote it when she was 15! I so loved hearing about her story. I was going to actually read it so I could review it on Amazon, but we were kinda busy so I never did. I also thought my brother was going to buy it for Elle because Elle seemed very interested in it. Anyway, for anyone who's interested in Hayley's book, it is called Pluto's Planet Problems. It is really cute, has a good lesson, and would be GREAT for any youngster who is interested in science or the solar system or for teachers who could use this book for science units on the planets. You can find it on Amazon. Another author who peaked my interest was Channing Whitaker. He wrote a mystery thriller that I'd love to sink my teeth into IF I had the time. Right now with working full-time and commuting, working on my teacher certificate, and book events, I have no time to read or write anything. That does need to change, though! I need to get another book in production!!! LOL! Ok I digress. Mr. Whitaker's book is called Until the Sun Rises. Check it out on Amazon as well. Also, there are several of the romance writers there who got together and published a cookbook. It's called Cooking with the Crazy Lady Authors. It looks really interesting, and I understand there are some really good recipes in there. As I stated before, ALL the authors have amazing gifts to share with us. If I had the time and the money, I'd buy all their books and spend days reading them.
